Kennedy & Violich Architecture

The Gather & Amplify project is inspired by the kinesthetic and spatial relationships that are fundamental to DeafSpace concepts. Led by Kennedy & Violich Architecture, the project builds an inclusive environment at Gallaudet University that generates educational, creative and economic opportunities for the Gallaudet community, adjoining Neighborhoods and the City at large.

Gather & Amplify combines three unique creative programs for Gallaudet, Work/Live Residences and University resources, a versatile Black Box Theater, and Creative Incubator spaces for Deaf owned businesses organizing these into three distinct and legible pavilions linked through kinesthetic movement, circulation and views.

Together, the three Pavilions form the project’s central courtyard, a flexible, shared green space for community gathering, idea exchange and social interaction based upon visual language and Sensory Reach concepts of Deaf Gain.

Kennedy & Violich Architecture is a Boston based interdisciplinary design practice recognized internationally for its innovative work in architecture and urban design, material research, and multi-scaled strategies in sustainable design.
